The Bishops' Court rejoins The Last Word
It is with great excitement that The Last Word announces the acquisition of The Bishops' Court.
For the past 3 months, The Last Word has been in negotiations with Paul le Roux to purchase The Bishops' Court and we are pleased to announce that this has now been finalized.
"As from Monday 16 October 2006, The Bishops' Court will be owned, managed and marketed by The Last Word with no changes going forward” said Paul. "I will remain on in a consultancy capacity and the entire staff will be retained”.
"I was very involved in the foundation of The Last Word and couldn't be happier to see The Bishops' Court as part of the collection again. I am just so glad that The Bishops' Court has been passed on to extremely capable hands and that its legacy will live on". "I will continue to be involved in hospitality, and will be investing all my time and energy in a new restaurant that I have started with my wife and sister in Noordhoek, called Café Roux”.
The Bishops' Court is a major attraction for The Last Word's five star collection of fabulous private luxury retreats. It is situated in what is arguably Cape Town's most beautiful and prestigious suburb and offers an idyllic, luxury location like no other. It compliments the existing retreats in The Last Word portfolio offering travellers the opportunity to discover so much more of Cape Town in the same style and elegance in one visit.
The Last Word Retreats are a proud member of the unique and diverse Mantis Collection. Other properties in the portfolio include Shamwari Game Reserve near Port Elizabeth, Lake Pleasant Living in Knysna, Sanbona Wildlife Reserve near Barrydale in the Klein Karoo, Bushman Sands Hotel and Game Reserve in Alicedale, Jock Safari Lodge in the Kruger National Park and The Draycott Hotel in Chelsea, London.
